First taste of League success for Castle Bar

Mark Foulkes clawed back in a low scoring game in leg 2 with a double 18 finish leaving Guns Captain on 60. Again the final leg saw a low scoring game with the two having double trouble but it was Mark who came out on top hitting double 1.

Game
4 saw Paddy Higgins fall to a magnificent show from Richard McKee. Richard (140,100,99) finishing on double 10 with 22 darts and Paddy left on 134. Richard (122,115,100) again scoring for fun took out an 18 dart finish on double 10 leaving Paddy trailing behind.

The off form Midge Hylands and the in form Kenneth Halliday were up next and it looked to be going one way and that was Kenneths (100,99) way, kenneth finished on 18 and left Midge on 100. Leg 2 was pretty much the same with Kenneth (3x100) finishing on double 16 and Midge left on 56.

The last match of the singles between Damien Savage and David Wilton was a stormer with David (100,100) losing the first leg to Damien (100,100) finishing on 36. Wilton (100) faught back to 1-1 finishing on 20 while Damien (124,100) had his chance to win the match left 24. David (3x100) then stepped it up a few gears finishing on double 10 to claim the victory for the Young Guns and leaving Damien on 117.

PAIRS - Midge Hylands (100,100) and Mark Foulkes (114) beat Andy Watson (100,95,95) and John McKee (121) 2-1. Michael Grimes and Damien Savage (125) lost 2-0 to Mark Gracey (97,99) and David Wilton (125,100) with a 20 and 24 dart finish.

Halfway Aces 5

This match was always going to be a good match and It was down to who had the best Pairs at the end of the singles. The Halfway's proved the strongest to take the points.

Ian Redmond took both legs in the first game against Neville Reid. Ian (100) had a 20 finish in leg 1 with Neville (100) needing 41. Leg 2 saw Neville (140,100,98,98) on the double 1st but it was Ian who finished the game with double 15.

B Reid (133) was left on 4 when Skippy Clingham (100) took out double top for the first leg. Skippy (140) stayed on top and finished on 60 leaving B Reid on 76.

The 3rd game seen Phil Allcock losing 2-0 to Roy Livingson. Roy (100) had a nice finish of 60 in the first leg leaving Phil back on 135. Once again Roy (100,98) was on the double first and made sure of it hitting double top and Phil once again didn't reach the double being left on 75.

The Red Star A Captain Alan McKnight was up next and his opponent Dylan Woosley, Dylan (140) finishing on double 10 with Alan (100) needing 40. Alan (140) was having trouble on the doubles when Dylan (100) finished on double 5 to level the match and leave Alan on 2.

After the break Maurice Orr and Ronnie Herdman took to the oche and it was Ronnie (100) that got off to a winning start, a 60 finish left Maurice needing 100+.
