Come dine with me at Drumcree

THE members of Drumcree WI enjoyed an evening of Come Dine with Me during their January meeting.

President Beryl Robinson welcomed everyone and members enjoyed a delicious meal of turkey and ham, various salads and exciting desserts hosted by the committee.

The Bramley Ramblers, Jim Smart, Mervyn Walker and Trevor Sharpe entertained everyone with their music, jokes, stories and a sing-a-long.

Pearl Armstrong proposed the vote of thanks.

Competition for ‘Fancy Napkin’ was won by Helen McCann, Birthday prize was won by Johanna Robinson and the ballot by May Askin.

Previously in the December meeting the group met in Derrykeevan Orange Hall where an enjoyable ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ quiz was conducted by Daryl Hewitt, District Master of Portadown Orange. The winners were Ruth Millar, Joan Treanor, May Askin and Helen Ballantine at table eight.

Visitors were from Tartaraghan WI while former member Mrs Joan Todd, home on holiday from Canada, also took part.

The competition ‘How would you spend a million?’ was won by Queenie Vaughan, the birthday prize by Peggy Hynds and the ballot by Pearl Armstrong.

At the November meeting President Beryl Robinson welcomed Mrs Rita Gilmore from Cladymilltown WI. Rita brought an array of Painted Stones and gave members an insight into how to choose and paint small and large stones with pictures and messages. The competition ‘A painted Stone’ was won by Elizabeth Cochrane.

Birthday girl was Mrs Florrie Morrison who celebrated her 90th birthday on November 27.

The next meeting is on Tuesday, February 19 at 8pm. The theme will be The Singing Chef. New members are welcome. For details contact 02838333686.
