Deaths in the community
Thomas John Mann
Thomas John (Jackie) Mann, late of Eden Avenue, Portadown, died peacefully at Daisy Hill Hospital on January 17.
He was the husband of the late May and father of David and Janice.
Father-in-law of Linda and Martin he was the grandfather of Dean, Jessie, Gavin, Ryan. Lucy, Harry and Caitie, also Jackie and great grandfather of Alex.
His funeral was on Sunday to Seagoe Parish Church with interment in the adjoining churchyard.
James McCooe
The death took place on January 8 of James (Jim) McCooe, of Birmingham and Portadown.
He was the father of Ryan, Michael, Gemma-Ann and James and granddad of Daisy-May and Keegan.
Son of the late Tommy and Annie he was the brother of Thomas, Michael, Pacelli, Patricia and the late John.
His funeral was on Sunday from his sister’s residence to St Patrick’s Church, William Street, with interment in St John’s Cemetery, Drumcree.
Yvonne Dowey
The death took place peacefully at her home on January 17 of Yvonne Dowey, nee Whitley, 7 Hill Street, Gilford.
She was the wife of Harold James and mother of Colin and Tanya.
Her funeral was on Sunday to St Paul’s Parish Church with interment in All Saints Parish Churchyard, Tullylish.
Marna Evelyn Barton
The death took place peacefully at hospital on January 19 of Marna Evelyn Barton, wife of the late George, 9 Ballybay Park, Portadown.
She was the mother of Stephen and Geoffrey, mother-in-law of Melanie and Alison, nanny of Daniel, Olivia, Katelyn, Kyle and Amy and sister of Noel and Sandra.
Her funeral was on Wednesday to St Columba’s Parish Church with interment in Seagoe Cemetery.
Mary Kathleen Steenson
Late of St Francis Nursing Home
Mary Kathleen (May) Steenson, nee McKeown, died peacefully at hospital on January 19.
She was the wife of the late Frederick, 11 Alexandria Gardens, Portadown, and mother of Sharon and Paul.
Also remembered by grandchildren Leanne, Jenna, Ashley and David, great grandchildren Katie and Charlie, sisters Mabel and Ethel and all the family circle.
Her funeral was on Tuesday to St Mark’s Parish Church with interment in Kernan Cemetery.
Thomas Henry Todd
The death took place peacefully on January 19 at Mahon Hall Care Home of Thomas Henry (Tommy) Todd, husband of the late Kathleen, 24 Oakleigh Park, Portadown.
He was the father of David and Evelyn, father-in-law of Caroline and grandfather of Kirsten, Nicole and Aimee.
Her funeral was on Monday to St Mark’s Parish Church with interment in St Saviour’s Churchyard.
