Pupils make music together
Dancing together ... Pupils from St John the Baptsit PS and Edenderry PS who took part in the All Set project. INPT02-008
PUPILS from St John the Baptist and Edenderry primary schools took part in a recent cross-cultural project which saw them enjoy dancing, singing and tin whistle classes.
The programme was delivered by the All Set project with leaders Mary Fox, Ian Carmichael and Len Graham leading the way.
A final performance took place in St John’s and was attended by families of pupils from both schools who joined in the dancing alongside their children.
Said Ian, “The pupils learned about the old dances which have similarities in Scotland and Northern Ireland. They gained new skills in music within a short period and learned a traditional song. Pupils can continue the learning of music on the tin whistle from the All Set web page – www.allsetcrosscultural.com.”
The project was funded by the Small Grants Lottery with Extended Schools contribution from St John’s.
