Trust to give key advice with winter warmth tips
ADVICE on keeping warm in the winter will be available at two events which are being held for older people, carers and those with a disability.
The Winter Warmer events, which have been organised by the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, will be at Portadown Town Hall on Thursday, February 2 from 9am-3pm and at Craigavon Civic Centre on Thursday, February 9 from 9am -3pm.
Melanie Clements, assistant director of Promoting Wellbeing with the Southern Trust, said, “These events will include speakers and information about keeping your home warm and safe, being energy efficient, and the effects of the cold on older people, including bone health, plus a range of other information.
“Winter warmer packs, containing an assortment of items for personal and home use will be given out at the event. These packs will also be available after the events to those who are unable to attend and who meet the criteria.”
The events are free and lunch will be provided. Places are limited so booking is essential. To book, telephone Rebekah on 028 3834 4973.
The events are supported by the Northern Ireland Executive through the Department for Social Development, as part of the Craigavon Neighbourhood Renewal Health Improvement Project.
