CUSHER DUP Councillors Gareth Wilson and Terry McWilliams are among those who attended a special thanksgiving service to mark the centenary of the formation of the Ulster Volunteer Force on January 13, 1913.

The service was hosted by the DUP Mayor of Craigavon Carla Lockhart and organised by the County Armagh Unionist Centenary Committee.

The Cusher representatives stated, “With our own local district contributing many volunteers, this was a very fitting way to mark this important centenary. The event paid tribute to the gallantry of the volunteers who made up the thousands of members of this heroic force who went on to cement their place in history with their bravery at the Somme.”
