Garvaghy Road work delay

RECENT winter weather has delayed the completion of a roads resurfacing scheme at Garvaghy Road.

Completion of the work was planned for today (Friday) but because of the poor weather the road closure which is currently in place has been extended until Sunday. Diversion routes remain as previously announced.

The resurfacing of Garvaghy Road is due to be completed on Sunday with the road reopening to through traffic on Monday. In order to minimise disruption to the road users, any ancillary work at junctions, etc not completed by this time will be carried out during next week and traffic will be controlled using temporary traffic lights.

A Roads Service spokesman said, “Roads Service is aware that there will be some disruption to traffic while the works are being completed and would like to express its appreciation for the cooperation of the road users to date and to request that they continue to exercise care and patience during this time.”
