ADAM MCLOUGHLIN

ON the 30th March this year, the Millington School Football Boys played their final game of the year at St John the Baptist P.S.

When the boys started they went one goal down when St John’s best player shot from outside the box! After the goal, the Millington boys started to shake themselves and began playing seriously. Millington Striker, Rhys Calvert walloped the ball inside St John’s box and scored! St Johns then got a few chances, but they didn’t succeed on scoring a second goal. Once the whistle ending the first half went, all the boys went back to their coaches for a prep talk!

When the whistle blew again St Johns stormed up the pitch but the skillful defender William Graham counter-attacked and played the ball to Rhys Calvert who headed it into the back of the net! Later into the game Millington’s Captain Jack Evans got the ball played into his feet and he slammed the ball from outside the box and scored! He had the funniest celebration ever! He decided to rip his top off and swing it about like a mad man! The final whistle then went and Millington had sealed the victory!

On the way home, the boys were so happy that they even started shouting and singing, “We’re Mr Guy’s green and white army!!”

This was an amazing result for the boys and they deserved the win!
