Top bands such as Kieran McGilligan, Shaun Loughrey, Eamon McCann and Declan Nerney have been lined up to appear in successive weeks.

Shawn Cuddy, who fronts one of the most consistent and polished bands on the circuit, said he was thrilled to have been asked to launch the new series. “I feel that there is a growing demand for more country dancing venues. That is apparent from the number of people who have been approaching us on this topic lately,” he said.

“The Carngrove Hotel has a reputation for comfort and a friendly atmosphere and this will certainly contribute to what I feel will be a successful series.”

Paul Martin will present his Country Roadshow from 9-11pm with the guest band on stage from 11pm-1am.

A spokesman for the promoters JKC Country said, “We have been inundated with requests recently to initiate a new Friday night dance series and we feel that the Carngrove Hotel will prove the perfect outlet for this.”
