Birches country night raises £10,000 for Hospice
THE annual big country night and supper held by the Birches Vintage Club at The Seagoe Hotel has raised £10,000 for the Southern Area Hospice.
This year, guests were treated to a light supper and entertainment from many artists including Kay from Silver Dollar, Shamus Delaney, Angela Reid, Anthony McBrian, Joe Moore, We Tom, as well as The Senators who appeared as a backing band.
One of the event organisers John Wilson said, “The amount raised this year was the highest yet for this annual country night. Even with all the uncertainties in today’s economic climate people were very generous and came from all over making it possible for us to support the Hospice.”
Tracey Muldoon, the Hospice’s regional marketing officer said, “We are indebted to the Birches Vintage Club and indeed all of the personalities and stars who came along on the night to help raise money for the Southern Area Hospice. We are delighted with the success of the event, £10,000 is a phenomenal amount of money and we would like to congratulate all those who have worked so hard to raise much needed funds for our hospice. This money will be put to excellent use caring for the many local patients and their families dealing with life-limiting illnesses.”
