NORTHERN Ireland’s newest Kip McGrath Education Centre was officially opened by Mayor of Craigavon Carla Lockhart recently.

Kip McGrath, Craigavon was also honoured to receive David Simpson MP, Stephen Moutray MLA and Deputy Mayor Arnold Hatch at the event.

Centre Director Jill Rooney said, “Michael and I were really touched to have so many attend our opening ceremony.”

The couple, who met while teaching, run the centre which provides supplementary education to children in reading, writing, comprehension, maths, English and science.

Jill and Michael were pleased to see their students rush to demonstrate the Kip McGrath computer programmes to their parents and guests.

One student took great delight in describing how his reading homework was done using the CD and his mother said, “Even though he has only been coming for a few weeks, I can already see the benefit in his attitude to school work and his reading.”
