A BRAND new Marie Curie Cancer Care shop has been officially opened by Marie Curie nurse Lisa Taylor at The Meadows Shopping Centre in Portadown. The nurse cut the ribbon to officially open the shop and helped to welcome customers into the store.
The new Marie Curie Shop will raise funds to support nurses who work in the local community and make it possible for terminally ill people to spend their final days at home.
Alec Barclay, head of Shops at Marie Curie Cancer Care, said, “We are delighted to be trading in Portadown, and I am extremely thankful to all our hard working staff and volunteers who have rallied round to get the new shop up and running. I hope people will pop by and visit our fantastic new shop, meet the team and have a look through our wide range of high quality items at really great prices.
“Every purchase will help Marie Curie Nurses care for more people with terminal cancer and other illnesses who wish to spend their final days at home.”
Staff and volunteers will gratefully receive any unwanted clothing, books and bric-a-brac – and don’t forget to ask how to make even more of your donation through Gift Aid.
If you are interested in volunteering at the shop call shop manager Jennifer on (028) 38 334158. For more information about Marie Curie Cancer Care, visit www.mariecurie.org.uk
