THE Market Place Theatre in Armagh is delighted to welcome the musical talents of Onyx Brass on Friday, April 27 at 8pm.

Since 1993 Onyx Brass have been dominating the international brass chamber music world. Dubbed ‘the classiest brass ensemble in Britain’ by BBC Music magazine, the group has performed at festivals all over Europe and the USA to huge critical acclaim. Individual members of the group hold permanent, principal positions in The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Orchestra Of English National Opera, The English Chamber Orchestra and The Royal Ballet Sinfonia. The quintet performs regularly on BBC Radio 2 and Radio 3. In its history, the ensemble has played for The Queen and Prime Ministers Tony Blair and John Major.

Pieces to be performed include Bach, Shostakovich, Copland [Three Dance Episodes From Rodeo], Tim Jackson’s comedy piece ‘Anything But’, jazz from Mick Foster and some Broadway tunes.
