A PORTADOWN man is part of a groove-based, melodic metal band which is going to release a debut EP next month.

Chris ‘Kaxxx’ Cassidy, a former bass player with local metal legends Sinocence, has joined up with 7 Days Dead members, guitarist Mark Johnston and drummer Stephen Brown.

The lads formed the band just over a year ago after their previous band Interrogate split up despite having released an album and completed a successful East Coast US tour. Refusing to give up or dwell on the past, the two recruited Chris and vocalist Ryan McManus and in the short time they’ve been together have already, “cemented their reputation as one of the best on the local live circuit” according to Planet Mosh.

The band intend on playing everywhere they can, not only in Ireland but also the UK and further afield. They are set to release their debut EP ‘Beyond Within’ on Saturday, February 16 with an early evening launch gig at the Limelight2 in Belfast with support from three of the best local acts about in local metal legends Honey For Christ, Spittin’ Bones from Dublin and Belfast groove-monsters Red Six.

Doors open 5pm, admission is £5 and the first 50 in will be entered in to a draw to win a £20 Amazon voucher. If you like your music heavy and full of groove you do not want to miss this one. You can listen to a couple of the tracks online right now and find out more about 7 Days Dead at www.7daysdead.com or facebook/7daysdead
