Tandragee Library is hosting an evening with Co Down author JS Comiskey on Tuesday, September 8 from 6.45pm - 7.45pm.

At this event, local author J.S. Comiskey will talk about her book Solstice: The Goddess Awakens and her planned Solstice trilogy, as well as her writing life and experiences. The audience will also have the opportunity to enjoy a question and answer session after Julie’s talk.

J.S. Comiskey is a debut novelist from Banbridge. After graduating from Queen’s University Belfast in 2000, she completed a Masters in Journalism at the University of Ulster in 2002, before working for a number of years as a journalist in print and broadcast. After finding herself out of work and with a great passion for writing, despite being dyslexic, she started writing Solstice: The Goddess Awakens, the first book in her up-and-coming trilogy.

Solstice is a soulful story set in contemporary Ireland that details the journey of one young woman’s awakening through myth, magic, conspiracy, love, loss and personal alchemy. The young author said that in writing and creating the characters and the story she was given the freedom to fuse and mingle all her passions and interests, from global politics, practical magic, astronomy and mythology into the beauty of everyday life and experiences.

Since publication in December 2014, Solstice has gone from strength to strength, receiving great reviews. J.S. Comiskey is currently working on ‘Equinox’, the second book in the series, which will be available, exclusively on Amazon later this year.

Admission is free, everyone is welcome and refreshments will be available. Booking is advisable.
