Portadown firefighters will be pulling out the hoses tomorrow (Saturday) but there won’t be a flame in sight.
Instead, the team will be washing cars to raise money for the Firefighters’ Charity and the Southern Area Hospice.
The car wash takes place at the Fire Station in Thomas Street from 9-4.30 and there is no minimum fee.
It has been taking place for the past 15-odd years and last year raised more than £2,000 for the Firefighters’ Charity and the NI Children’s Hospice.
It is always well supported and the organisers are hoping for a good public turn-out again this year.
