A CLOUNAGH Junior High School pupil will be hoping to impress the judges of the popular ITV talent show, The X Factor, with her singing voice when she auditions for the hit reality programme next month.
Fourteen-year-old Samantha Wilson will be joining thousands of pop star hopefuls at the Hampden Park stadium, Glasgow, on May 5.

Lying in wait will be the famous judges Sharon Osbourne, Irish Westlife manager Louis Walsh and music mogul Simon Cowell.

"I'm both nervous and excited," said Samantha, who has chosen Celine Dion's 'Because You Loved Me' as her audition song. "I've always wanted to be a singer and friends have told me that I've a brilliant voice, but I hope Simon isn't ignorant or nasty to me, I wouldn't like him then."

However, Samantha, who was encouraged by her friends to apply for an audition on-line, will have to face a pre-audition where she will sing to the programme's producers before it will be decided whether or not she will face the X-Factor judges. But she will have the support of her mum, Janice, to steady her nerves.

"Everyone's really excited for me," she said. "I can't wait to see Sharon Osbourne – she's my favourite judge."
