The flag representing the controversial former apartheid regime in South Africa is flying prominently in Edgarstown

A resident sent the Times a picture of the flag, flying in close proximity to unionist flags and symbols.

The orange, white and blue flag was the flag of the apartheid government in South Africa until 1994 and was a symbol of that racist regime.

It was replaced after the fall of the white-dominated government, but it still finds sympathy among right wing groups in South Africa and the United States.
