A youth player at Portadown Football Club has been suspended pending further investigations of a malicious tweet regarding Oscar Knox - who lost his battle against cancer this week.
Portadown Football Club have offered their sincere apologies to the family of Oscar, following a comment apparently made by a Portadown Youth player on Twitter today (Friday, May 9).
A spokesman said: “This behaviour is totally unacceptable to everyone at Portadown FC, as we share the grief and loss of this tragic young man’s short life, following his brave battle with cancer.
“The player concerned has been suspended from the Club pending further investigations.
“A further statement will be issued in due course.”
