Portadown based company, Kestrel Foods, has landed a contract with Asda to supply products from its Forest Feast range to almost all of the chain’s stores across the UK.

As of June 1, Forest Feast Exotic Dried Mango, Sour Mango, Coco Mango, and Wonder Berries will be available in 257 stores.

This is the first UK-wide Asda contract for Kestrel Foods, which produces dried fruit, nut, and seed products from its base in Carn Industrial Estate. The business, owned by Lorraine and Michael Hall, supplies its products across the UK and Ireland, as well as into over 36 countries worldwide.

“Having our products showcased at Asda stores across the UK is a fantastic development for our business, and one which represents a significant growth opportunity,” said Tim McVicker, Commercial Director at Kestrel Foods.

“The Forest Feast Premium Fruit Doypack range is our signature range of dried fruit products, sourced from across the globe, and designed for snacking, baking or cooking. We take great pride in our products, putting a real emphasis on quality and standout flavour. For instance, our Forest Feast Sour Mango is the result of tender, Fairtrade green Philippine mango being harvested before fully ripening, giving us a unique sweet and sour snack.

“We are delighted to have that commitment to quality recognised by major retail partners such as Asda, and particularly proud to be bringing this range to consumers right across the UK.”

Kestrel Foods has been in operation since 1996 and, since then, has continually expanded its Forest Feast portfolio to include over 150 mouth-watering and unique flavour combinations. The company takes pride in their ability to create new and innovative products, which will now be enjoyed by a vaster range of consumers as a result of the Asda contract.
Susanna Hassard, Asda’s Regional Buying Manager for NI and Scotland (Grocery and Produce), added:
“Asda is committed to supporting local companies and showcasing the very best of Northern Irish suppliers and produce across our UK network of stores. Forest Feast’s focus on new product development, convenience and health are all vital credentials, which have established a trusted supplier relationship and a range which is of huge appeal to our customers.”

Products from the Forest Feast range are already available to buy across Northern Ireland, and cater for all appetites. Keep an eye out in your local Asda store for these delicious dried fruit mixes.
