More jobs for recyling firm

There was welcome news this week as RiverRidge Recycling announced the creation of nine jobs at their Portadown plant.

The plant on the Moy Road was formerly owned by Natural World Products (NWP).

RiverRidge Recycling are based across four sites including Portadown and treat waste on behalf of six local councils and more than 3,000 private and public customers.

The company has seen major growth since it acquired a small skip hire business in 2011. It has expanded from 25 staff members in 2011 to more than 190 today, having created more than 17 job roles in the last 12 months alone.

Brett Ross, managing director of RiverRidge Recycling, said, “As a local company, we are committed to building a team and a business which our community stakeholders can be proud of.

“We are confident that our investment into both infrastructure and job creation over the previous five years reflect this commitment, especially considering our achievements to date.”

Mr Ross continued, “As a sector we now employ well over 1,000 people and contribute in no small way to the national GDP of Northern Ireland.

“Building a company that Northern Irish people want to work for and consequently don’t leave to find work elsewhere is probably the biggest achievement we would hope to achieve.

“The recent recession proved devastating to so many family units so ensuring that as much of our success is converted into job opportunities as possible is core to ours as well as Northern Ireland’s future.”

Due to continued growth RiverRidge Recycling say they are currently seeking positions across their depot in Portadown. Anyone wishing to apply for any new job roles should visit www.riverridgerecycling.com/recruitment to download an electronic job application form.

Once, completed, applications should be returned to RiverRidge Recycling Ltd, 56 Craigmore Road, Ringsend, Garvagh BT51 5HF.
