A Carn-based cleaning company has completed a £20,000 deal to provide Markethill Livestock and Farmsales with a state-of-the-art wash system.
Craigmore Industrial and Engineering Solutions has supplied the animal auction house with an integrated wash system.
It will allow the animal areas to be cleaned to the highest standards following each auction, a vehicle cleaning system, allowing farmers’ trucks and trailers to be thoroughly washed, and a scrubber drier which will be used to clean the public areas of the site.
Markethill Livestock and Farmsales recently underwent a £1.4 million rebuild on a 15-acre site outside Armagh, and sells up to 30,000 animals per week.
Geoff Baird, managing director of Craigmore, said he was thrilled to have completed the new installation with Markethill Livestock and Farmsales.
He said, “The equipment will perform a key role in ensuring health and safety and hygiene requirements are maintained at the highest level which is vitally important in this sector, especially within sale yards where the animals are housed and prepared for sale.
“Our range of equipment is new, innovative, and economical in use and with the option of long term lease it is the right choice for buyers and managers in the agricultural industry.”
Craigmore offer industrial cleaning and engineering products to a range of sectors including agricultural, engineering, tourism and transport throughout Ireland and the UK.
The company, which was founded in 1990 and employs 13 people, is the largest Karcher dealer in Northern Ireland, and also supplies products from SIP, 3M, Arrow and Nielsen.
The agriculture sector currently makes up around 10 per cent of Craigmore’s business, and new developments, alongside changes in the economy, have enabled them to penetrate new markets such as engineering, food, hospitality and tourism.
