A Tandragee chip shop was ransacked and money stolen during a burglary in the early hours of yesterday (Thursday) morning.

The Rumbles Chip Shop on the corner of Church Street also had its front door glass broken.

Cusher DUP Councillor Gareth Wilson has slammed the culprits. He said, “This is an attack on a local business and I condemn those behind this criminality outright.

“Trading conditions across the province are challenging for everyone, so to have your business attacked in this way with damage caused which will cost money to repair, is something that Mr McCracken could well do without.”

He added, “This is an area of the town where there are residential properties and businesses so therefore I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this attack to contact the police immediately and pass on any information which could assist them in their inquiries.

“Speaking to Geoffrey today he is keen to get trading again in his popular fast food outlet and get the mess cleaned up. He is resilient in the face of this attack on his business and hopefully the PSNI can pursue those behind this crime and apprehend them.”
