Church grounds are targeted

Stonebridge Church grounds have been targeted for the second week in a row.

Last week thieves tried to steal tools from a workman’s van but were disturbed and drove off in a blue car.

On Monday evening thieves broke into a car parked at the graveyard.

Councillor Eamon Mc Neill said “This is very disturbing for everyone in the local area. Both incidents happened in daylight so the intruders are not afraid of being seen. On Monday evening a local lady was visiting her sister’s grave when she heard her car alarm. She was very distressed and felt so vulnerable as she was there alone. This has been the third incident in just over two months. I would ask everyone living in our local area to be extra vigilant and report anything that you think is suspicious.”
