A bar in Tandragee became the latest building in the town to be vandalised earlier this week.

Cullen’s Bar, at the corner of Madden Road and Market Street, had windows broken and sectarian graffiti sprayed on it.

Workers were quickly on the scene on Tuesday morning to paint over the graffiti and replace the windows.

Newry and Armagh DUP Assemblyman William Irwin MLA said he was getting “more and more concerned” at the regularity of such attacks in the town.

He said, “We had the chip shop broken into in recent weeks and also the old Ulster Bank window broken, and the Pizza takeaway had the front window broken. This is on top of other graffiti incidents in the town in the past couple of months and I have raised my concerns afresh with the PSNI.”

His colleague, Cusher DUP Councillor Gareth Wilson, said they will be maintaining close contact with the PSNI to continue to push for more policing resources.

Police said the crime had been reported early on Tuesday morning, and they urged anyone with information to contact police on 101, quoting ref: 264 0906.
