A Birches community group site is to undergo a £15,000 facelift thanks to a grant from Craigavon Borough Council.
Birches Action Rural Network (BARN) and Cosy Club received the money from Craigavon Borough Council’s reserve fund.
Under the scheme, the site will undergo significant environmental improvements.
Councillor Jonathan Buckley said, “This is fantastic news for the BARN community group and residents in the surrounding area. This site has been in need of repair for a considerable time and this £15,000 will go a long way in improving it.
“Knowing how well the site has served the local community it is fitting that council have recognised the hard work of BARN and awarded this funding which will transform the current site.”
David Simpson MP and Sydney Anderson MLA also welcomed the investment saying, “This is very welcome news for the Birches. We know both residents and the community group will be glad to see the space cleaned up and fit for community service. We have always worked very closely with the BARN community group and are delighted to see them avail of some much-needed funding. We wish them well as they start what will be a significant project.”
