Moneypenny’s Lock is opening its gates to the public for a FREE taster session on some traditional crafts on Saturday (28 March).
The event, partly funded by Craigavon Borough Council’s Community Celebratory Fund, is the second of a series of open days hosted by Moneypenny’s Lock, along the Newry Canal outside Portadown.
A variety of crafts will be showcased on the day, including blacksmithing, pottery, woodturning and boat-building. The central ‘Forge-In’ project involves blacksmiths making an ornamental forged steel and wood bench, and will be placed permanently at Moneypenny’s Blacksmith Workshop.
All activities are free to the public on a ‘come and try’ basis and will run from 11am to 3:30pm. For more information, call 07979149165.
