Extra month in jail for drugs offence

A serving prisoner due for release in April had one month added to his sentence last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Christopher Barry Carlisle (32), Lakeview Court, Craigavon, admitted unlawful possession of cannabis resin on May 27 last year.

The court heard police carried out a search at the defendant’s address and found 17 grams of cannabis resin in an upstairs bedroom, When interviewed Carlisle made full admissions. A barrister representing the defendant said Carlisle’s record did him no credit.

A one month prison sentence was imposed to run consecutively with the one he is currently serving.
