The body of Portadown angler Daryl Burke will be brought home soon, Portadown Pikers Club confirmed tonight (Saturday).

Darryl (30) had been missing for more than two weeks following an accident on Lough Ree in Westmeath last month.

However, a body, believed to be Daryl’s, was found this afternoon.

On its official Twitter account the Portadown Pikers Club said, “We are pleased to say Daryl has been found and his family will soon bring him home.”

Tributes were paid to Daryl tonight during a third vigil held at Shillington’s Quay in Portadown.

The service was led by Cecil Allen who thanked the people of Lough Ree for their help over the last couple of weeks.
