During a domestic incident a 23-year-old man kicked and damaged a door and a frame, Craigavon Court heard last Wednesday.

Michael Redmond Doran, Wellington Street, Lurgan, admitted unlawful damage on February 27.

He was sentenced to three months in prison, suspended for one year, and ordered to pay £200 compensation. The court heard police went to an address in Lurgan in response to a domestic dispute.

The injured party alleged she was in the bathroom when Doran kicked the door and damaged it. She refused to co-operate with the prosecution. When interviewed Doran, who has a record, admitted the offence.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said that offences of a similar nature had happened just six days before this incident. A defence barrister said Doran was in a relationship with this lady which had now ended.

He said the defendant had been socialising and the injured party had been socialising as well. A row broke out.
