A 21-year-old woman was banned from driving for 12 months last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for an excess alcohol offence.

Danielle O’Loan, whose address was given to the court as Avondale Manor, Craigavon, was also fined £150 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

If she completes a drink driving course her ban would be reduced to nine months.

The court heard that on November 1 last year at 12.15am police saw a car cut a corner at Lake Road and then crossing white lines before they stopped it at Balteagh Road.

O’Loan was driving and there was a smell of alcohol on her breath.

An evidential test gave a reading of 62 - the legal limit is 35

A barrister representing the defendant said she regretted her actions.

She was due to get a job but needed her licence and that job was no longer an option for her.
