A 47-year-old man was banned from driving for 16 months last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for an excess alcohol offence.
David Adrian Erwin, Oakgrove, Portadown, was also fined £200 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that on July 10 at 4.38pm details were circulated about a suspected drunken driver leaving Rushmere Shopping Centre.
The vehicle was seen in Portadown and it brushed a kerb going into Oakgrove before striking another kerb.
Erwin got out of the car and was extremely unsteady on his feet. He also stumbled several times and had to be helped by police. A breath test gave a reading of 113 - the limit is 35.
Mr Joe McDonald, representing the defendant, said Erwin had been driving for 30 years with no record for driving offences.
He explained that it was the start of the holidays and the defendant stupidly took the car out.
