A YOUNG Portadown girl is in the running to become the ‘Junior Face of Northern Ireland’.
Eight-year-old Ellie-Rose Delaney, from Rose Cottages, has been selected as a finalist for the beauty contest after her mum Siobhan submitted an application form on the competition’s website.
The final of Junior Face of Northern Ireland contest, which is for girls aged between six and 11, will take place on August 21 in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry.
If Ellie-Rose, who attends Ballyoran Primary School, wins the contest she will go on to represent Northern Ireland in the Junior Face of Europe pageant which is to be held in Disneyland, Paris. The winner will also receive accommodation at a Disney Hotel and a two-day ticket for both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.
Siobhan says that Ellie-Rose is delighted to have been chosen and is excited at the prospect of attending the final.
“As far as I know at the final, Ellie-Rose will have to wear three dresses for three different sections - one white dress, partywear and formalwear - as well as doing an interview.
“I also have to say thank you to Orchid Studios for sponsoring one of her dresses and Princess Ellie’s boutique in Portadown for sponsoring another one,” said Siobhan.
