THE South Ulster Community Band is celebrating the award of a recent grant with their annual concert at Portadown Town Hall on Friday, February 22.

The South Ulster Community Band is very grateful to Craigavon Arts in Motion for their support in the form of a small grant to assist the band in the purchase of new music.
The cross community band are well know locally for their musical excellence and it is important to the band members that they perform a entertaining variety of music for their audiences. The annual concert in Portadown Town Hall this year will be no exception.
The programme will include pieces such as: Gabriel’s Oboe, popular from the musical Wicked, Symphonic Dances from Fiddler On The Roof, Haven’t Met You Yet (Michael Buble) and Gilbert & Sullivan – symphonic variations,
A highlight of the evening will be when the Band join forces with Lurgan Choir Cantabile, directed by Kerrie Patterson, to perform “Wherever you are” the song made famous by Gareth Malone and the Military Wives Choir.
BBC presenter and producer Bob Crookes, a great friend and supporter of the band, has kindly agreed to compere the evening.
