SPECSAVERS stores in Portadown and Craigavon are on the search for budding young artists who can put their artistic skills to the test.
The stores are encouraging children to enter their back to school colouring competition.
The competition will run through to Sunday, September 30 and is open to all children aged between four and 12. The most eye-catching entries in each category, P1-P4 and P5-P7, will win some fantastic prizes. In the P1-P4 category, the first prize is a three-wheeled Flicker Scooter, the second prize is a £20 Toymaster voucher and the third prize is a pair of children’s designer glasses.
For those in P5-P7, the first prize is a Nintendo DSi, the second prize is a £20 Eason voucher and the third prize is a pair of children’s designer glasses.
Michael Kennedy, store director, Portadown said, “Good eyesight is one of the most important tools in a child’s learning and if it is not in perfect condition, problems can often be mistaken for learning difficulties in young children. Around 80 per cent of everything a child learns is through their vision, so even a minor problem with a child’s sight can mean they suffer huge setbacks in their development at school. We thought this would be a nice way to help all the children settle back to school after their summer holidays.”
All entries must be submitted directly to either the Portadown or Craigavon Specsavers store on or before Sunday, September 30. Each entry must have the child’s full name, age, primary class, address and telephone number clearly marked. The winners from each store respectively will be notified shortly after the closing date. Three winners across each category, six winners in total, will be chosen from each store.
