THE Portadown Times is to mark Tandragee Junior High School’s 50th anniversary with a special supplement next week.
Don’t miss the Times for a series of special articles and old photographs from down the years.
The school is hosting an open evening on Thursday, February 28 at 7.30pm.
All former pupils, staff and governors are invited to attend this informal evening in the school.
There will be an opportunity to visit classrooms and see how the school has changed since 1963 and view 400 old photographs which will be on a power point presentation in the Assembly Hall. Poyntzpass Silver Band (many of whom are former pupils) will be playing and there will be time to relax, reminisce with staff (former and present) and classmates.
Said headmaster David Gillespie, “We hope to have, in attendance, some former pupils who are now well-known celebrities and, of course, light refreshments will be served in the Assembly Hall. We would love to see as many people as possible on the evening and trust you will make a special effort to attend.”
More events are planned for later in the year. On Thursday, May 2 the school will host a variety concert while a golf day has been organised for Friday, May 31 at Tandragee Golf Club. The 50th anniversary celebrations will conclude with a Buffet Supper at Tandragee Golf Club on Friday, June 7 at 7.30pm.
