Portadown dried fruit and nut business Forest Feast has landed a supply deal with Asda in Northern Ireland to roll out its new range of snack products inspired by the sights and sounds of the international street food scene.

Forest Feast’s Spanish, Thai and USA inspired Street Food snack mixes will now be stocked in all Asda stores here.

Asda is the first major multiple retailer in Northern Ireland to stock products from the new Street Food range, which Forest Feast launched this year following a major reinvestment into its production facilities, processing and packaging technology.

Tim McVicker, commercial director, Forest Feast said, “Having the support of Asda for our new range is extremely valuable and we’re thrilled to have Street Food showcased in their portfolio of stores. Our strategy is about staying ahead of consumer food trends and bringing innovative new products to market.

“We developed Street Food to celebrate the sights, sounds and spices of the global street food scene, where some of the most flavoursome, exciting cuisine is cooked and enjoyed in the open air. We have brought iconic street food flavours to life in our dried fruit and nuts such as honey red pepper almonds, Thai spice cashews, pineapple and coconut, which we’ve combined to make our Koh Samui Thai Spice mix.

“We’re proud that Asda has confidence in our product and is supporting us in bringing it to market.”

Susanna Hassard, Asda’s Regional Buying Manager for NI and Scotland (Grocery and Produce) added, “This is a really innovative new range from a great Northern Ireland producer. By tapping into the growing street food trend and celebrating the best of international cuisine, Forest Feast has created a unique snack product which we’re certain will prove popular with our customers.

“We’re proud that Asda is helping take this delicious new range of snacks to the streets!”

The Forest Feast Street Food lines being stocked at Asda stores in Northern Ireland are Koh Samui Thai Spice, Louisiana Hickory BBQ and Ir de Tapas. Inspired by the exotic Thai island of the same name, Koh Samui Thai Spice is a blend of honey red pepper almonds, Thai spice cashews, pineapple and coconut; Louisiana Hickory BBQ is a combination of hickory smoked almonds, Barbeque Green Peas with Jalapeño and honey mustard sesame sticks; and Ir de Tapas is a Spanish style mix of chilli lime broad beans and peas, spicy chilli corn, roasted almonds, roasted and salted peanuts.
