A £250 fine was imposed on a Gilford man last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court a drugs offence.

Conor Patrick William Rogan (25), Hollymount Road, Gilford, admitted possession of a class B drug, cannabis, on March 6 this year.

He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard police spoke to the occupants of a car at Lake Road, Craigavon, and Rogan, who was in the front passenger seat, had a stubbed out joint on his lap. Another joint was found in the car.

A barrister representing Rogan said he only had a small amount of the drug. He had a previous offence which was dealt with by way of a monetary penalty.

Imposing the fine District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, warned the defendant if he offended again as far as drugs were concerned he would not be dealt with by a monetary penalty the next time.
