Keevan Cyclists raised money for a number of local children’s cancer charities.
On Saturday, August 6 the local Keevan Cycling Club ran their first ever sportive event.
The event ran over three routes, a 20 mile family route, a 40 mile route and an 87 mile route.
The event was supported by local families and riders from up to 21 cycling clubs from all over Northern Ireland, including the neighbouring Portadown Cycling Club.
The event was a huge success was the participants were blessed with sunny weather.
The money raised on the day totalled £1900 and was split between Cancer Fund for Children and Clic Sargent.
Chairman of Keevan Cycle Club Brendan Crealey commented: “For our first ever sportive we are delighted with the turnout of riders and the local support.
“The event will become an annual fixture on the local cycling calendar now so we can continue to raise much needed funds for local charities.”
