Heather Gordon’s love of her trusty Minis throughout the years has led to another rather unusual mode of transport for the Portadown bank official – whizzing down the bobsleigh run in the iconic Norwegian Winter Olympics resort of Lillehammer.

Heather, who took delivery of a brand new racing green Mini from Prentice’s of Carn at the weekend, is the UK winner of a four-day ‘Mini-Adventure’ in the Scandinavia winter wonderland, “to include the exciting bobsleigh run”.

It was promoted by every dealer in Britain and Prentice’s are every bit as delighted as Heather.

“She’s now onto her fourth Mini from us,” said sales executive Mark McKelvey. “The competition was open to anyone taking a test drive in a Mini.

“Indeed, Heather was in the process of changing to the latest model, and I suggested she should enter while we were out on the road.”

Said Heather, “I was really excited about the new car, and didn’t think much about the competition.

“The day before I took delivery, Mini rang me with the good news. I’ve been dealing with Prentice’s for years and can’t believe my luck.”

It’s a four-day ‘Mini-adventure’ for two, with £250 spending money, and Heather will be taking along her sister Fiona. They’ll be accommodated in a four-star Radisson Blu Hotel, and as well as the bobsleigh, they’ll be invited to skim downhill on a luge-like solo ‘skeleton’ run – “but I think we’ll miss out on that one”.

The prize also includes a tour of the Winter Olympics Museum, a ride on the chair lift up to the giant jump towers and several other attractions. “It’s about 114 miles from Oslo so we’re hoping to spend a day there.”

Prentice marketing manager Judi McClelland said, “We’re delighted for Heather – she’s such a loyal customer, like one of the family.”
