Judge apologises after Neknomination video

The video shows Rosemary Watters, often based in Craigavon Magistrates Court, ‘necking’ a shot then nominating someone else to do the same.

Neknomination is a new drinking craze on social media that has been blamed for the deaths of two teenagers in the Republic of Ireland.

The footage of Ms Watters (48) was filmed at a family event last month.

A statement issued on behalf of Judge Watters read: “The video was taken at a family event. Judge Watters recognises her foolish behaviour and would discourage anyone else from repeating what she did.”

The Lord Chief Justice’s office made the following comment: “The Lord Chief Justice is aware of the video and has noted that the judge recognises her behaviour was foolish. He will be making enquiries.”
