Nominations are about to close our Portadown Person to be Proud Of competition for 2014.
We want you to put forward someone you feel is a suitable contender for the award ahead of the public vote starting next week.
The Portadown’s Person To be Proud Of was launched by the paper to recognise the huge contribution made by a great many people from this town.
The winner will take a fantastic prize. All four shopping centres, Asda, Magowan West, The Meadows and High Street Mall, will be donating shopping vouchers to our winner, totalling over £400.
Do you know someone who helps to make Portadown special? Is there an individual, a volunteer, local personality or someone else who deserves recognition for their achievements or for the community spirit they have shown?
If you do, we want you to contact us as we draw up our shortlist for the fourth annual award.
Already nominated are John Wilson, Abigail Gracey, Eddie Drury, Caroline McCall, Leslie Harrison, Kenneth Vennard, Luke McCullough, Rachelle Liggett, Rachel Kennedy, Dwaine Smith and Jeffrey Toal.
Nominations are still open until Monday (February 9) at 1pm. You can email your nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also ring us on 028 38 395560 or write to us at Portadown Person to be Proud of, Portadown Times, 2 Esky Drive, Portadown, BT63 5YY. You can also nominate via our facebook page or at Twitter at @portadowntimes1.
The shortlist will be revealed in the Portadown Times next week and we’ll give you details on how to vote for your winner.
