Jewellery, electronic goods and cash were among items stolen from a house at Canvy Manor, Portadown, last Wednesday.
The burglary, one of a spate in the Portadown area, is being linked to two incidents which took place on the same day.
In the first, four men were disturbed inside a house in the Ulsterville Park area at around 6.50pm. At around 7.30pm on the same evening, four men forced entry to a house in Ballyhannon Grove. Nothing was taken in either incident and the men are believed to have made off in a white vehicle.
The third burglary took place between 4.45pm and 9.40pm, after the culprits forced open patio doors.
A substantial amount was taken including an Ipad Mini, Ugg boots, perfume, Acer tablet with pink case, Albert 18ct gold chain and matching bracelet, engagement ring with a green emerald and diamonds, a gold ring with diamonds, Beats by Dre headphones, Nintendo DS XL with an ‘Animal Crossing’ print, a Pandora bracelet and cash.
Meanwhile, in the Garvaghy Road area this week, a father and son returned to their Rose Gardens home during the day and disturbed two men acting suspiciously at the back of the house. The suspects made their escape by climbing over the back fence.
The PSNI pointed out that although burglaries are down 30 per cent on the same period last year, the weeks leading up to Christmas can be a prime time for criminals.
A spokesperson said, “Operation Season’s Greetings will see an increased police presence throughout the area...The public should also do what they can to deter criminals.”
