Two cars were stolen in ‘creeper’ burglaries in Portadown and Lurgan last Thursday night.
A yellow Hyundai Veloster was taken by thieves who entered a house in the Beechwood Manor area of Portadown. They stole the keys before driving off in the vehicle.
A silver Nissan Almera Tino car was also taken in similar circumstances from a house in Garland Mews in Lurgan during the early hours of Friday morning.
Detectives are investigating a possible connection between these burglaries and a silver Renault Scenic found abandoned on the hard shoulder of the M1 city bound just past Lurgan at around 3.15am.
The car, registration FCZ 9790, had been spotted earlier close to an address in Turmoyra Court in Lurgan where the householder disturbed three men in the driveway of his home at around 1.50am.
The Scenic has been seized by police for examination.
Anyone with information about the burglaries or the movements of the Renault Scenic is asked to contact Lurgan CID on the non-emergency number 101.
