THE Times’ campaign on dog fouling has got off to a flying start with two owners already being fined for failing to clean up after their dogs and others being reported by members of the public.
The offences were detected yesterday (Thursday) at the Bann Boulevard by environmental wardens from Craigavon Borough Council.
Trevor Clydesdale, neighbourhood environmental officer, said their identities had been confirmed by their vehicle details and that fixed penalties would be issued.
Meanwhile the Civic Centre took a number of calls this morning (Friday) from people reporting offenders.
The Portadown Times facebook and twitter sites have also been busy with messages of support from people keen to see the issue tackled.
