A Portadown man was ‘let down’ by his employer after he was caught for two motoring offences, Craigavon Magistrates Court heard last Wednesday.
Aaron Reavie (19), Westland Road, was fined £90, with three penalty points, for not wearing a seat belt on October 13 last year. He was also fined £20 for failing to produce his driving licence to police.
The court heard that at 2.45pm he was seen driving a truck in Portadown and he was not wearing a seat belt. He could offer no excuse and failed to produce his licence.
Defence solicitor Mr Richard Monteith said his client was driving a work vehicle and his employer promised to take his licence to police. He said Reavie’s ‘employer let him down’. He had since lost his job.
