A 73-year-old man was injured after being assaulted by up to six men in Woodhouse Street.

Around 5.30pm on Wednesday, February 19 the pensioner approached a blue car and opened the passenger door. The male driver was verbally abusive and the man walked away.

The driver then got out of the car and approached the man and an altercation took place between the two. Approximately five other males gathered and proceeded to assault the 73-year-old man. He sustained an injury to his face.

The male driver is described as being around 30-years-old, 5ft 8in/9in tall, of medium build with a swarthy complexion and longish black hair, gelled back.
