A Portadown man who sent text messages to his sister was in breach of a non molestation order, Craigavon Court heard last Wednesday.
Ian Joseph McCaugherty (50), Drumilly Green was given a combination order for the offence on April 27.
He was put on probation for 12 months and given 60 hours community service.
Police received a complaint from the injured party that her brother had sent a number of text messages in breach on a non molestation order.
McCaugherty admitted contacting her after consuming alcohol. He said he did not realise the order had come into effect.
Defence said he had nine convictions for breach of non molestation orders.
He explained that the week before this offence McCaugherty had been admitted to the Bluestone unit.
The solicitor said McCaugherty claimed his sister promised to help him remove some of his possessions but reneged on that promise and he took issue with that. He said he lost a lot of his possessions as a result.
The defendant had not come to police attention since.
