A 24-year-old Portadown man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman on August 8.
David Robert Boyd of Thomas Street, appeared at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Wednesday. He is also charged with making a threat to kill the same injured party, common assault and unlawfully and injuriously imprisoning her on August 8.
Boyd faces further charges of damaging a bathroom and bedroom door belonging to her, damaging a mobile phone and obstructing a police officer.
He is charged with entering a house at Millington Park, and stealing a laptop and four CDs.
A detective constable said he was aware of the circumstances of the case and believed he could connect the defendant with the charges. There was no application for bail by Boyd’s solicitor.
District Judge Mr Paul Copeland said they were serious charges and told Boyd he would be remanded in custody but he could apply for bail to a more senior court.
He remanded him to appear by videolink on August 29.
