A Portadown man was sentenced to one month in custody last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for damaging an electronic tag.
Twenty year old Ryan Pepper, Westland Road, Portadown, appeared by way of videolink from Hydebank.
He admitted unlawful damage to an electronic tag belonging to G4S on April 8 this year.
The court heard he was in breach of his bail conditions by removing the tag. Pepper claimed it had come off while he was in the shower.
Mr Gabriel Ingram, representing the defendant, said Pepper was becoming reasonably familiar in the courts.
He was currently serving a sentence with a release date in July.
He added that the defendant had been doing well for a while before plunging back into drink and drugs.
Mr Ingram said Pepper was beginning to see the error of his ways and hoped to go to college when released.
District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, imposed a sentence of one month in custody to run concurrently with the sentence he is serving.
